How often do you get your oil changed? CalRecycle has launched a campaign to remind Californians to “check your number” to find out the recommended oil change interval for your vehicle. Many Californians follow the old standard 3,000 miles oil change interval, but with today’s technology most cars can maintain optimal function and engine life while going longer between oil changes. With fewer oil changes you are not only saving money and time, but you are also reducing petroleum consumption. Improper disposal of oil is also a leading cause of water pollution, so make sure that oil is taken to a certified collection center when you do change it.
